August 24, 2021: “Good Morning, Nightmare.”

Good morning, nightmare.
Work begins in 30 minutes.

I’m in my flip-flops, standing near the stove, waiting for the water to boil.
I’m holding a mug that contains grains of instant coffee and sands of time.
A spoon leans idly in the mug.
When the time comes, it will stir up things.
But not now.

Work
from
home.

Work
starts
now.

Silent mode: off.
A big mistake.
I start receiving notifications.
“I am following up on…”
“I am waiting for the…”
“When will we be able to…”
“Can you please…”
“It’s urgent.”

I wish I could find a way out
of this dystopia.

Silent mode: on.
A bad idea.
But it will give me five minutes
to be myself.

Have a Cigar: Columbus Churchill

Name: Columbus Churchill

Country: Honduras

Shape: Parejo

Size: Churchill (7 inches x 48)

Strength: Medium

The best part about smoking the Columbus Churchill was sharing the experience with people I know. It went perfectly well with the barbecue, the Johnnie Walker Black Label, and the political jokes that never ended.

The Columbus Churchill is a high-quality, medium-bodied cigar that burns steadily and evenly. I really enjoyed smoking it.

Unpretentious cigars are great cigars, and it’s never a bad idea to keep some in your humidor. You never know when friends knock on your door and ask for a stick with a drink.

Have a Cigar: Columbus Short Churchill

Name: Columbus Short Churchill

Country: Honduras

Shape: Parejo

Size: Short Churchill (4 7/8 inches x 52)

Strength: Medium to Full

The Columbus Short Churchill is an interesting cigar with a stimulating aroma.

It smelled a little minty when I took it out of its tube. It was a good-looking cigar. When lit, the taste came with woody notes and hints of caramel.

I had planned to light it while reading Kafka, but I ended up smoking it while gardening under a scorching sun. That wasn’t the best time to smoke a cigar. Nonetheless, I did enjoy it… somewhat.

Though I usually smoke two-thirds of the cigar or more, I merely smoked the third of this one. A dry mouth and salty sweat on my lips made it impossible for me to enjoy it further. But that was not the cigar’s fault, of course.

I’ll have to try a Columbus cigar again another time.
