Le Petit Baal 2019

Lebanese Wines: Domaine de Baal – Le Petit Baal 2019

Description

Name: Domaine de Baal – Le Petit Baal 2019
Type: Red Wine
Grapes: Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon
Year: 2019
Country: Lebanon
Region: Bekaa Valley

Experience

Date Consumed: 6 November, 2022

Strong and full-bodied. Bold and powerful. Aged in French oak barrels. Tannic. Raunchy.

This is a wine that has a lot of character. I could smell the red fruits and taste the berries. I could also detect some earthy and leathery notes.

It deserves 86/100.

Abdelli Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

Lebanese Wines: Abdelli Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Description

Name: Abdelli Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Type: Red Wine
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon
Year: 2017
Country: Lebanon
Region: North Lebanon

Experience

Overall, it is an okay wine, but not one that is worth philosophizing about. It’s a “house wine” that is pretty straightforward. A little on the acidic side with some notes of unripe strawberry. It goes well with Lebanese mezza and a budget cigar. I’d give it 50/100.

Enjoying a Latourba Simil Red 2017 at home.

Other Notes

On good occasions, I like to pair the Latourba Simil Red with classic Cuban cigars like Romeo Y Julieta.
