Casually smoking the night away
with a friend,
drinking whisky and talking about music,
asking about the whereabouts of this guy and that guy,
reminding ourselves how time goes fast by remembering things that took place more than 10 years ago,
reading an article about an “asteroid which could possibly hit earth” in 2022,
joking,
laughing,
and so on, and so on.

“Thanks for the cigar,” I said as I zipped up my jacket. “The next one’s on me.”

December 31, 2021. The cigars I wanted to burn were many, but I could only choose one.

When I opened my humidor, I paused to think a little before choosing, but my hand almost immediately went for the Balmoral Anejo XO Rothschild Masivo, a cigar I never smoked before. It had been sitting in my humidor for months… So I picked it up, and I said, “Why not. Let’s end the year with something new.”

That’s how this beautifully made, full-bodied Balmoral became my last cigar of the year.

Paired first with a glass of The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12 Years Old and then with a glass of Johnnie Walker Black Label, I got some interesting notes and a great experience.

It was a good cigar to close the year with.

no one to see.

to be alone.
