El Septimo Sacred Arts Raphael at Whisky Live Beirut 2022

Have a Cigar: El Septimo Sacred Arts Raphael

Name: El Septimo Sacred Arts Raphael

Country: Costa Rica

Shape: Parejo

Size: Toro (6 inches x 50)

Strength: Medium to Full

I fell in love with El Septimo’s Sacred Arts collection from the moment I smoked the one called Salvador Dali. But then I smoked the Botticelli, and I was impressed by it even more. And then, when I tried the Raphael, I could only say, Chapeau bas!

The Sacred Arts collection is nothing short of amazing.

As for the one called Raphael, I smoked it at Whisky Live Beirut 2022, and it paired well with Chivas Regal 18.

Great smoke.

Domaine des Tourelles Red

Country: Lebanon

Experience

Date Consumed: 1 December, 2022

I bought this bottle a couple of years ago to make sangria with it. But I forgot all about it until last month when I decided to do a quick inventory of the wines I had. I don’t have a big inventory, but it seems I have enough to forget some of the bottles that I own. And the Domaine des Tourelles 2018 was one of them.

Forgetting is not always a bad thing, however, because, now, the wine had aged enough to be, what I believe, in its prime. We opened it right before it started to darken to a brown color. As I poured it into the decanter, I watched the beautiful magenta liquid slide down to the bottom. It looked nice and smelled nice.

After I let it rest for a few minutes, I poured a glass for my wife and another for me. We tasted it, and it was okay.

I got notes of dark fruits, wood, and olive oil. It was an expressive sip. Rich. But it wasn’t as good as I expected when I first smelled it.

It gets 72/100.

LFD Capitulo II Cigar Review

Have a Cigar: La Flor Dominicana Capitulo II

Name: La Flor Dominicana Capitulo II

Country: Dominican Republic

Size: (6 1/2 inches x 58)

Strength: Full

The Capitulo II is a full-bodied cigar that burns slowly and produces a lot of smoke.

I got notes of dried figs, leather, black pepper, and mild hints of oak. I paired it with vodka and sparkling water, but I feel Cognac or brandy would have been a better choice.

Overall, I think the Capitulo II is a cigar made to be smoked casually in cigar lounges. It’s strong, and it’s big enough to keep you company for a very long time.
