Have a Cigar: Condega Serie ‘F’ Magnum

Name: Condega Serie ‘F’ Magnum

Country: Nicaragua

Shape: Parejo

Size: Toro (6 1/2 inches x 52)

Strength: Medium to Full

In a folding picnic armchair
our man sat like a king on a hill
after a decisive battle.

The orange moon smiled before it was shrouded by the smoke
that crept upward
like a dead man’s soul.

A cheap cigar danced to the rhythm of classic rock songs
like a magician’s wand (burning)
like a conductor’s baton (on fire)
communicating musical ideas
celebrating life
despite the turmoil, tumult, and turbulence.

The cigar was a paint brush
and the night sky was an empty canvas.
Gray on black: an alluring belly dance.
Gray on black: the last breath of a soldier.

Our man felt a poem being written
somewhere in the near future,
a poem written phenomenologically
now.

“Yes, yes,” our man said right now.
“So the muses came like they often do
when they smell a cigar burn.”

And then he jotted down whatever came to him.

Partagas Super Partagas Cigar Review

Have a Cigar: Partagas Super Partagas

Name: Partagas Super Partagas

Country: Cuba

Shape: Parejo

Size: Corona (5 1/2 inches x 40)

Strength: Medium

The Super Partagas is one of those cigars you pull out when you suddenly discover that you have an hour for yourself in the middle of a busy day. It can also be the cigar that keeps you company while you run your errands and do your chores. Personally, I like to light one up when I’m working on the terrace or when I’m out on a long walk.

This medium-bodied cigar is ideal if you know your hands will be busy handling tools or carrying things. And because it’s a 40 ring gauge cigar, you can naturally keep it between your teeth for a longer period of time than you would a robusto or a gordo. You can be smoking Partagas while working on your laptop, cleaning your grill, cooking dinner, reading a book, or even while drilling holes in a wall…

With hints of chocolate milk, summer flowers, and cedar, the Super Partagas goes well with coffee in the morning and gin in the afternoon. There’s a sweet creaminess to it, especially when you retrohale or blow out the smoke slowly — like you should.

Casa Turrent Cuba Cigar Review

Have a Cigar: Casa Turrent Cuba

Name: Casa Turrent Cuba

Country: Mexico

Shape: Parejo

Size: Robusto (5 1/2 inches x 54)

Strength: Medium to Full

The Casa Turrent Cuba is a superior cigar, rich in flavor. I smoked it while enjoying Lebanese meze and arak with family and friends.

Before lighting the cigar, I could smell hints of caramel, salt, and pepper. The first and last few draws were somewhat peppery. The middle part was woody and nutty… and, of course, as smooth as can be.
