Camping in Baskinta. Smoking a Balmoral Anejo XO Nicaragua.

Have a Cigar: Balmoral Anejo XO Nicaragua Rothschild Masivo

Name: Balmoral Anejo XO Nicaragua Rothschild Masivo

Country: Dominican Republic

Shape: Parejo

Size: Robusto (5 inches x 55)

Strength: Medium

I gave the Balmoral Anejo XO Nicaragua Rothschild Masivo a straight cut and lit it up just before the sunset. I was camping in Baskinta with a group of friends, and we had just finished setting up our tents. I wanted to put some smoke in the air before the stars conquered the sky.

The cigar burned beautifully, and I could not put it down. I enjoyed every draw. I smoked it within an hour. The first half of it was paired with a vodka drink, and the second half with The Famous Grouse Smoky Black.

I got notes of earth, oak, chocolate, and pepper.

Out of the three cigars I smoked that day, this was the one I enjoyed the most.

Caldwell Long Live The King Marquis

Have a Cigar: Caldwell Long Live The King Marquis

Name: Caldwell Long Live The King Marquis

Country: Dominican Republic

Shape: Parejo

Size: Gordo (6 inches x 60)

Strength: Full

I smoked the Caldwell Long Live the King Marquis by the grill.

It was a lovely night. The steaks hissed at the gaping moon as my friend and I enjoyed our drinks. We smoked and talked about work and politics. And we planned a camping trip.

I paired the Long Live the King with Absolut vodka first, and then switched to lager when I got to the second third.

In general, it was a good smoke. Even burn, solid ash, easy draw.

I got hints of hazelnut, maple, and cedar, and a peppery aftertaste.
