Reviewing a wine from Lebanon: Chateau Kefraya Amphora 2021

Lebanese Wines: Chateau Kefraya Amphora 2021

Name: Chateau Kefraya Amphora 2021
Type: Red Wine
Grapes: Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Tempranillo
Year: 2021
Country: Lebanon
Region: Bekaa Valley
Date Consumed: December 31, 2025

A medium-to-full-bodied Lebanese red wine made in clay jars, following Phoenician traditions (from 4,000 years ago). It reminds me a little of the different blends of Armenian amphora wines that I’ve tried. I love the playfully strong tannins and the harmony of (dark) notes it offers. A well-balanced blend with great structure. I’d drink this wine again and again, and I’d happily get drunk on it.

Review of the Lebanese wine Chateau Ksara Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Lebanese Wines: Chateau Ksara Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Name: Chateau Ksara Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Type: Red Wine
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon
Year: 2010
Country: Lebanon
Region: Bekaa Valley
Date Consumed: December 24, 2025

Charming Cabernet Sauvignon by Chateau Ksara, but a little bit too soft and too old for my taste. A little too mature, if you know what I mean. If I wanted to speak honestly, I’d say: I love their younger cabernet sauvignon, but I only like the older one.

Nonetheless, I would happily open another bottle without thinking twice. This is good wine.

Cheers.

Review of Latourba Merlot wine from Lebanon

Lebanese Wines: Latourba Merlot 2020

Name: Latourba Cabernet Merlot 2020
Type: Red Wine
Grapes: Merlot
Year: 2020
Country: Lebanon
Region: Bekaa Valley
Date Consumed: December 22, 2025

Although I’ve said that Latourba’s Cabernet Sauvignon is one of my favorite single-varietal wines coming from Lebanon, their Merlot is not. I don’t know what I was looking for in the sip, but I was expecting at least a tiny bit more from it for sure… It’s important to note, however, that it’s still a good (enough) wine, and if you’re a big merlot fan looking for Lebanese bottles, Latourba’s work is one that you need to add to your list. It just isn’t for me. Cheers.
