Chris Khatschadourian smoking the La Vieja Habana Brazilian Maduro Bombero

Have a Cigar: La Vieja Habana Brazilian Maduro Bombero

Name: La Vieja Habana Brazilian Maduro Bombero

Country: Nicaragua

Shape: Parejo

Size: (6 inches x 54)

Strength: Medium

Somewhere far in the mountains, I smoked Drew Estate’s La Vieja Habana Brazilian Maduro.

The size I smoked was the Bombero, which is 6 inches long and has a 54 ring gauge. I paired it first with a Cabernet Sauvignon and then with Lebanese arak. It tasted better with the arak. I believe it would have paired well with blended 12-year-old whiskies, too.

The Bombero burned evenly but relatively fast. So, I enjoyed it until there was nothing left of it.

Medium-strength and medium-bodied, it’s a good stick to light up while feasting on Lebanese mezze.

Balmoral Anejo XO Gordito

Have a Cigar: Balmoral Anejo XO Gordito

Name: Balmoral Anejo XO Gordito

Country: Dominican Republic

Shape: Parejo

Size: (4 inches x 58)

Strength: Medium to Full

The Balmoral Anejo XO Gordito is a good coffee shop cigar. It’s good-looking, short, and fat with a 58 ring gauge. It has a good draw and produces a lot of smoke.

I paired it with French press coffee, and I enjoyed smoking it while I had a nice conversation with my wife about life and everything in it.
