The LFD Salomon Maduro turned out to be a decent celebratory cigar. I paired it with The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 and was satisfied with it. The cigar was strong and complex, and it was big enough to last a while.

The Balmoral Anejo XO Gordito is a good coffee shop cigar. It’s good-looking, short, and fat with a 58 ring gauge. It has a good draw and produces a lot of smoke.

I paired it with French press coffee, and I enjoyed smoking it while I had a nice conversation with my wife about life and everything in it.

Earlier this year, I tried the Robusto vitola of the Plasencia Reserva 1898, and I liked it. This time, I went for the Toro simply because I was looking for something that would last longer than the Robusto.

Overall, the Plasencia Reserva 1898 is an affordable cigar that tastes great. I like to pair it with Johnnie Walker Black Label or The Famous Grouse Smoky Black, but a good glass of gin and tonic also goes very well with it.
