A tobacconist suggested I try this cigar. “I love this one,” he said as he showed me the thick, six-inch, oily dark brown stick. I could see how mouth-watering it was for him. He was telling the truth. If I weren’t there, maybe he would have lit one.

I held the cigar in my hand and observed its beauty. “Such a lovely looking cigar,” I said.

He praised it so much that I wanted to take it out of the cellophane wrapper and light it right there and then.

I purchased one and went home. When I finally got the chance to smoke it, I understood why he loved it so much.

It’s a big, savory cigar with notes of wood, chocolate, pecan, and almond. It evolves midway to become spicy and leathery. And the final third is strong.

I will surely keep one in my humidor.

Fantastic combustion. Long duration. Great cigar.

The Camacho Criollo Toro helped me clear my head today. Escaping all the madness and chaos in Beirut, my fiancée and I went to the pool to relax a little. We deserved the break. We’ve been working hard planning our wedding and everything that comes with it.

So, finally… a break.

I ordered a beer and lit my cigar.

The stress will not go away on its own, you know. You have to kill it with fire and alcohol.

Name: Puro Del Oro Toro

Country: Nicaragua

Size: Toro (5 7/8 inches x 54)

Strength: Medium to Full

When I talk about budget cigars, I talk about cigars like Puro Del Oro. They are affordable, good quality cigars that you can enjoy all the time. Though my preferred Puro Del Oro is the Petit Torpedo, I found the Toro to be pretty decent as well.

I usually smoke these while reading or while having an afternoon beer on my balcony. But smoking too many of these may bore your palate, too.
