Juan Lopez Adon Exclusivo Libano at Byblos Fuego Launch

Have a Cigar: Juan Lopez Adon

Name: Juan Lopez Adon

Country: Cuba

Shape: Parejo

Size: (5 1/8 inches x 55)

Strength: Medium

I’d have liked it to be a tiny bit stronger, but the medium-bodied Juan Lopez Adon gave me a good time nonetheless. I smoked it until the fire kissed my lips and my fingers burned. I paired the first half with Dalmore 15 and the second half with Glenfiddich 15. Good stuff indeed.

Branding: Definitely looks like a Cuban cigar. Reminds me a little bit of Romeo y Julieta.

Construction: Good. No weak spots.

Pre-light: Promising. Light. Caramel.

Cut: Straight cut.

Burn: The first third was trouble, but it evened out after that.

Duration: 60 minutes.

Draw: Excellent.

Smoke: It produced a good amount of smoke. Nothing to complain about here.

Ash: Mediocre.

Flavor: Bread, wood, cappuccino, nutmeg. Gamy hints.

Smoking a Juan Lopez at the Fuego Event in Jbeil, Lebanon, 2023

Have a Cigar: Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1

Name: Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1

Country: Cuba

Shape: Parejo

Size: (5 5/8 inches x 46)

Strength: Medium

Horrible picture, but good cigar. I gave it a straight cut and paired with with Dalmore 15. The first third felt a little too mild, especially after burning two full-bodied cigars that same evening. But my palate adjusted eventually, and I was able to enjoy the Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1 fully. I was my first time smoking it. It’s a medium-bodied cigar with little complexity, which makes it a good morning smoke. Maybe next time I’ll try it with my morning espresso.
