Enjoying a Paradiso Revelation Odyssey at a Wedding at The Forest, Fatqa

Have a Cigar: Paradiso Revelation Odyssey

Name: Paradiso Revelation Odyssey

Country: Nicaragua

Shape: Parejo

Size: (5 3/4 inches x 60)

Strength: Medium

Some cigars are made in paradise. The Paradiso Revelation Odyssey is one of them. It’s an aromatic, medium-bodied, Nicaraguan cigar that will find a place in your heart no matter who you are.

Cocoa, coffee, earth, and leather are the prevailing notes, but hints of cinnamon, hazelnut, white pepper, and even oak can be detected.

I smoked the Odyssey vitola for the first time at a wedding. I paired it with a twelve-year-old Scotch whisky, and I was more than happy with it. I can confidently say that it’s one of my favorite cigars of 2022.

Madatoff Armenian Brandy, Montecristo cigar, and Hegel. Can I ask for more?

Have a Cigar: Montecristo No. 2

Name: Montecristo No. 2

Country: Cuba

Shape: Torpedo

Size: (6 1/8 inches x 52)

Strength: Medium to Full

The Montecristo No. 2 is a classic. It’s a spicy Cuban cigar with hints of leather and earth. A lot cigar aficionados I’ve met list this cigar in their top ten, and many of them smoke it regularly.

My go-to Montecristo vitola is the Petit Edmundo, but sometimes, when I’m home alone, I like to smoke the No. 2. You can find me disconnected from the digital world, blowing out smoke, nursing a drink while reading a thick volume.

On a balcony overlooking the Port of Beirut,
you and your friend are smoking
one of the best cigars you smoked so far this year.

You’re talking politics
to pass the time.
Sunday, everyone is voting it seems,
except you.
Marx was right when he said, “Religion
is the opium of the people.”
But he forgot to add,
“Politics is the cocaine of the masses.”
Can one really be apolitical, though?
No.
You say you’ll think about this tomorrow,
whether you’ll vote or not,
but you know you won’t.
You are incapable of
giving a shit.

“It is what it is,” you start concluding.
You look at your friend and say,
“Let’s have another glass, and then
you can drive me home.”

Time slows down
to let you paint the black night grey.
Smoke rises to kiss the moon.
The cigar burns like a dying star.
